Slightly more than a year after the "Incidents" LP, Ruins are following this split-EP: a new 6-minute song that comes along as epic as it gets dark and makes the heavy load literally tangible. The soundtrack to the summer sounds different and ruin captivates again with oppressive atmosphere, rich sound and incredible power. Dark, gripping and with a desperate voice accompanied by grindy melodies.
The flipside populate Usnea from Portland, Oregon with a 6.5-minute song that commutes somewhere between Death Doom, Sludge, Black Metal and Drone. Captivating, bleak and enormously intense with slow mo moments and rough passages that are so desperate both textually and musically that it almost tears you apart.
